The Centre for Trafficking, Exploitation and Modern Slavery Studies (TEAMS) at the Hume Institute for Postgraduate Studies, in collaboration with the Centre for Human Rights Law and Policy (CHRLP) at REVA University, is delighted to announce the annual Serious and Organised Crime Conference, scheduled to be held virtually on 18th May 2024.
Building upon the success of previous conferences, this year’s event aims to cast a broader net, inviting submissions from diverse disciplines to enrich discussions and insights into tackling serious and organised crime.
TEAMS remains steadfast in its commitment to generating knowledge and solutions to combat human trafficking and modern slavery worldwide. Rooted in the ethos of justice, dignity, and well-being, TEAMS acknowledges the complex linkages between human trafficking, exploitation, and broader global inequalities, pledging to support research efforts and innovative solutions in addressing transnational organized crimes.
In parallel, the CHRLP shares our commitment to interdisciplinary research and actively contributes to eradicating human rights violations. By contextualizing violence and discrimination as human rights violations and exploring diverse occurrences, laws, policies, and procedures, the centre works towards a comprehensive understanding of human rights dynamics. With a keen focus on both theoretical and empirical dimensions, CHRLP strives to generate valuable policy implications, advocating for appropriate legislation and policies to safeguard human rights.
The Serious and Organised Crime Conference 2024 offers a unique platform for scholars, practitioners, and researchers to converge, exchange ideas, and explore the latest developments and trends in the field.
The virtual conference aims to provide a platform for academics, practitioners and researchers to come together to present, discuss and learn about the latest ideas, developments and trends in serious and organised crime.
