The Serious and Organised Crime Conference 2023

About the virtual conference

The Centre for Trafficking, Exploitation and Modern Slavery Studies (TEAMS) at the Hume Institute for Postgraduate Studies are holding their first annual virtual conference in collaboration with the Centre for Crime, Justice and Security at Staffordshire University on 17th June 2023. We welcome papers connected to serious and organised crime.

TEAMS mission is to create and share knowledge of, and solutions for tackling human trafficking and modern slavery globally, while promoting justice, dignity and well-being for all. TEAMS understands that human trafficking, exploitation and slavery is a by-product of wider global inequalities and is committed to supporting research and developing solutions to combat human trafficking and transnational organised crimes.

The Centre for Crime, Justice and Security leads on ground-breaking research, innovations and enterprise initiatives that are committed to human rights, global security and justice for all. The Centre is underpinned by three pillars: ethics and integrity, sustainability, and evidence-based practice, and is driven by solving global challenges through national and international collaborations and impacting on policy and practice at a global level.

The virtual conference aims to provide a platform for academics, practitioners and researchers to come together to present, discuss and learn about the latest ideas, developments and trends in serious and organised crime.
