About the Speakers
Professor Enrique M. Soriano III
is a World Bank/IFC Governance Consultant, Columnist, Book Author, Former Chair, and Professor of Global Marketing at the ATENEO Graduate School of Business. He is a member of the Singapore Institute of Directors (SID) and presently sits as an Independent Director of Publicly listed Emperador Distillers and Travelers Hotel International (Resorts World Manila). He also sits as Board Advisor to 25 family businesses in Asia. As a Senior Fellow at the IPMI Case Center, he has led a number of talks and workshops at IPMI over the years.
Ms. Shanti Poesposoetjipto
is an Indonesian entrepreneur and businessperson who founded and the Ambassador to the Family Business Network Asia (FBN Asia), founded and the Chairperson of the Board of Trustee to the Yayasan Fitrah Bisnis Keluarga Nusantara (FBN Indonesia). Ms Poesposoetjipto will be the discussant for the talk.
She has been serving as CEO of PT Ngrumat Bondo Utomo, the Family Office of the Soedarpo Family, in charge of several subsidiaries in several industries. She is also the President and Chairman of PT Samudera Indonesia Tbk, one of Indonesia’s largest shipping company, which was established in 1953.FBN Indonesia has been a valued partner and sponsor for events related to family business at IPMI.
Professor Mohammed Abdel-Haq
is founder of the Centre for Islamic Finance, Professor in Banking, and Assistant Vice-Chancellor at the University of Bolton with responsibility for all postgraduate development. As well as his academic experience, Mohammed has a wealth of professional experience in banking, finance and public life, including a long career in banking and private wealth management with major financial institutions such as Citi Bank, Deutsche Bank and HSBC, and as the founder of Oakstone Merchant Bank.
